This will take you to main attractions to see once on your Uganda safari like pre-colonial and colonial cities that have a lot of historical attachments to all Ugandans. these include; the kabaka’s of Buganda palace, Kasubi tombs, catholic and protestant cathedrals, Namugongo martyrs shrine, the bahai temple, Gadhafi mosque, Makerere university, the Uganda museum plus the central business area.

Itinerary

You will be picked from the hotel of your residence in Kampala after having breakfast, embark on your one day city tour. The following are the sites to be visited. Uganda Museum, Martyrs shrine Namugongo, King's place and Namirembe Cathedral and Ndere cultural center. You will have lunch en route, drinking water on board.

You will go and participate in your scheduled and pre booked Zumba or Salsa class in Kampala (you will find and have fun with the rest of the participants).

You end your tour at Ndere cultural center for a fantastic performance of African cultures through music, dance and drama.

The 7 days manyatta experience is an interactive or participatory tour. Travellers shall get to meet the Karimajong people. The Karimajong people are a fierce warrior cattlekeeping tribe found in Northern Uganda. They are the cousins of the Masaai of Kenya and Tanzania. Wealth in their community is measured by the number of cows one has. The women build huts to live in known as the manyatta while the men go out to herd cattle. Their staple food is milk and cow blood.

While with the karamajong, you shall sit with the elders in their meetings. You shall help to herd some cattle and do some milking. You shall participate in the tribal dances and if lucky attend a wedding ceremony. If you are a Lady, you shall learn how to style hair the Karimajong way.

Murchison Falls National Park in the northwest is known for its 43m-tall waterfall and wildlife such as hippos.

Kampala is Uganda's national and commercial capital bordering Lake Victoria, Africa's largest lake. Hills covered with red-tile villas and trees surround an urban centre of contemporary skyscrapers. In this downtown area, the Uganda Museum explores the country's tribal heritage through an extensive collection of artefacts. On nearby Mengo Hill is Lubiri Palace, the former seat of the Buganda Kingdom.

Itinerary

The city tour will start in the morning with a visit to Rubaga Catholic Cathedral, Lubiri Kings Palace, Namirembe and the National Mosque which are all major religious instituitions in uganda. You will then proceed to Kasubi Royal Tombs where 4 of the Buganda kabakas (Kings) were buried. You will then cross over to the nearby Makerere University which was founded as Makerere College and the oldest University in Uganda.

You will drive to the Uganda National Museum where you can catch a summarized collection of Uganda’s Culture and History without trying very hard.You will then head to the only Bahai Temple in africa where you will get information about the Bahai Faith and how it came to Uganda. The temple has very eye catching gardens that i bet you will enjoy looking at. Drive back to Kampala where the Tour ends.
